Fishing and hunting with Basswood Trails Guide service is not only a trip, it's a learning experience.  You will learn how to locate and catch many species of game fish. We encourage you to ask questions in the field, and what you learn can help you be more successful for many seasons to come. Our guided day trips are geared for the busy vacationer.  Day fishing trip can be by motorized boat  or paddled canoe.  Basswood Trial's guides are professionals who take their jobs seriously.  Your guide will bait your hook, remove your fish, and cook you a fabulous shore lunch while you kick back and enjoy life.  

 

        Join us, and try your luck on Basswood Lake, the home of Minnesota's state record Northern Pike. Rumor has it that Basswood holds the next state record small mouth bass, and it could be yours. If you are a fan of the gold-sided walleye pike, Basswood is the place for you. This lake has one of the highest netting survey data in Minnesota for walleye. The Ely area has hundreds of lakes teaming with many species of fish. If Basswood doesn't appeal to your taste, we will find a lake that will.

          The enchanting call of a loon and the flickering glow of a campfire dances at camp as you enjoy the quiet solitude.  Sounds like a dream?  We make it happen every day for friends, families, and fisherman heading into the coolest fishing place on earth.  The lake you will be on is controled entry by permit this keeps boat traffic and noise low.  Our overnight trips are 3 day 4 night minimum. We can tailor your trip for you, fully or partial outfitted trips available.
